The objective is to establish a solid foundation in the theoretical and practical components. This is done in order for students to attain the level of competence, which will be necessary for them to develop their knowledge and comprehension of the material before applying it and integrating it into their treatments.
The point at which the student is able to formulate and carry out an effective treatment plan to enable a client to reach their health care goals indicates their internalization of the course material.
The course material is presented in a teacher-led manner, to self- motivated adults who are pursuing a career choice.

2. Apply Traditional Chinese Medicine theory and principles.
- Describe Yin/Yang and the Five Elements (theory, principles, clinical indications - Describe the Zang-Fu organs (theory, principles, clinical indications) - Describe Qi, Blood, and Body Fluid - List the Meridians and Collaterals - Discuss Nomenclature for Functions, Distribution, and Cyclical Flow - Describe the 12 Regular Meridians and the 8 Extraordinary Meridians

4. Evaluate aetiology and pathogenesis from Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective - List the 6 Exogenous factors, 7 emotional factors - Discuss Improper diet, overstrain, stress and trauma - Describe Phlegm fluid /stagnant blood - Describe Disharmony of Yin and Yang - Discuss conflict between Antipathogenic Qi and Pathogenic Qi - Discuss abnormal ascending and descending Qi
5. Utilize Traditional Chinese Medicine Differential Diagnosis
- Describe Methods of diagnosis - Differentiate Syndromes according to categories
6. Apply the principles of Shiatsu massage. - Apply the principles of TCM diagnosis and syndrome differentiation to a therapeutic massage format - Formulate a shiatsu treatment plan. - Utilize specific manipulations to achieve the required effects. - Perform shiatsu massage in Regional Sequences - Perform a full body shiatsu massage sequence
7. Formulate a treatment plan using Shiatsu massage diagnostic principles.
